BodyWork
Massage Therapy & Shiatsu Massage
Massage Therapy
Therapeutic massage reduces pain, promotes circulation, restores balance, calms the nervous system, and helps with injury recovery and prevention. A massage session can be for relaxation or can include focused work on certain muscles as requested. I specialize in medium to deep pressure as an overall experience. I blend a variety of techniques that help to give you more freedom in your body and less stress overall. Your massage will take place in my office. (Note that these sessions do not include Shiatsu bodywork.)
Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese form of massage done on a floor mat. You will remain fully clothed, and no oil or lotion is used. The massage is based on concepts from traditional Chinese medicine and uses finger pressure, palms, knuckles and thumbs to activate the body’s chi (life energy) to balance and flow naturally.
Many of the same meridian points are pressed as in acupuncture, but in Shiatsu they are pressed with fingers, not needles. After the session, you will feel fully relaxed and balanced.
10 Minute Breathwork Add On
Clarity Breathwork is the practice of circular, connected breathing used for healing, expanded awareness, and accessing higher states of consciousness.
